Experimental Assessment of Friction Coefficient in Deep Drawing and Its Verification by Numerical Simulation

The friction coefficient in the simulation of stamping processes should be defined. Modern software allows its definition as constant or dependence on pressure temperature. It is also useful to define different values regions, it often reflects nature deformation process. This article deals with regression and analytical models commonly used determine coefficients specified areas Analytical were verified by an experimental strip drawing test under same contact conditions. Steel sheets for automotive industry experiments simulations—extra deep quality DC 05 austenitic stainless steel AISI 304. Friction evaluated when cup was performed. A model blankholding force applied results. Conformity measured tests confirmed. reached from experiment FEM software.
